Welcome to the Archivist History Blog

I am a professional Archivist interested in documenting the stories of people, events, buildings and places.  I am also a Historian, although more specifically Art, Architectural, Design and Fashion History.

My main research interest currently is the Scottish witchcraft trials of the 16th and 17th century in the historic County of Renfrew. I am also interested in architecture and the built environment including sculpture, funerary monuments and cemeteries, hidden and controversial histories, and most things weird and wonderful! But to be honest most things interest me, the west of Scotland, its history, development, harbours, how people moved around etc.

I have written quite a few articles, blog entries, reviews and contributed to a couple of history books available from Cartsburn Publishing.

During my Postgraduate Archive course, I contributed to a couple of blogs – IMPossible Archives and Welcome to the Darkive.
